Details

Senior Project Managers possess a strong project management background and excellent communication skills. They lead medium to large projects, assess business needs, develop implementation strategy and lead end-to-end activities. This role works with senior stakeholders and across Global/Regional/Site responsibilities, collaborating with multiple sub-departments and sometimes other departments within Booking.com. The role supports a high velocity of change and an agile development environment where releases are frequent and impact many layers of the organization.

This is a contractor role (5 months) with a timeline from Jul 15, 2026 to Dec 31, 2026. Hours: 40 hrs/week. Payrate range: 40 - 95 €/hr. Location: Amsterdam, NH.

Responsibilities

  • Apply structured methodology and lead project/change management activities.
  • Lead independently end-to-end (E2E) high complexity projects from scoping to execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation.
  • Drive project scoping and planning working with different teams and create associated documentation.
  • Define and document program objectives, requirements and success criteria, KPIs, roadmap/E2E planning, risk and dependencies, cost estimates and program deliverables.
  • Drive project plan execution, track and report progress, ensure project closing and correct handover to Business as Usual.
  • Design and implement project governance and delivery structure to ensure efficient delivery, communication and decision making.
  • Maintain project management frameworks & templates and provide improvement feedback.
  • Drive the progress and successful delivery of initiatives that bring significant value to the business, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver full-scope change on timelines and budget (where applicable).
  • Act as primary point of contact for project-related queries and maintain engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Define and measure success metrics for projects/workstreams in scope.
  • Lead workshops to support project delivery.
  • Potentially run strategy workstreams from problem definition to delivering a solution including implementation strategy or execute change management initiatives and communications plans.

Requirements

  • Strong Project Management experience; preferably with a background in Agile Project Management.
  • PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with change management approaches and a good understanding of the change curve and process.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate project insights and recommendations across stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and influence up to Senior Managers and Director level.
  • Highly organized and structured; able to ensure processes run smoothly and reliably.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project teams; influence and steer senior management and groups.
  • Flexibility and ability to function well within ambiguity and a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision; decompose complex problems into actionable solutions and drive them to completion.
  • Ensure project outcomes align with customer needs and/or expectations.
