Senior Risk Manager Platforms & Technology Risk

ABN AMRO is looking for an experienced technology risk manager to identify and manage risks in its platforms and infrastructure environment. The role provides independent risk oversight, strengthens control discipline, supports secure-by-design implementation of new technologies and environments, and helps ensure secure, stable and continuously available services.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of stable maintenance and secure configuration of core platforms and infrastructure technologies.
• Challenge and advise first-line teams on risk posture, controls, remediation and action plans.
• Translate findings into concise reporting and clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Perform independent risk assessments of key platform and infrastructure domains.
• Review and challenge remediation plans, control improvements and risk acceptances.
• Identify recurring risk themes and translate them into practical improvement actions.
• Prepare reporting for senior stakeholders and risk governance forums.
• Support maturity improvements in platform and technology risk oversight.
• Guide the organization in secure-by-design implementation of new technologies and environments.
• Support process discipline for maintenance and development processes.
• Work collaboratively with the risk team and the wider infrastructure community.

Working Environment

The role is part of the CRO IT & Cyber function, which provides second-line oversight of IT risk, information security, cybersecurity, outsourcing risk, digital resilience and operational resilience risk. The role operates within ABN AMRO's three lines of defence model and provides independent challenge and guidance to first-line teams. Candidates must be based in the Netherlands.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of infrastructure, platforms, cloud and IT management processes.
• Experience with Microsoft cloud services, private cloud and networking.
• Senior-level technology risk management experience.
• Experience with second-line oversight, control challenge and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Ability to operate independently and deliver within a fixed assignment timeframe.
• Strong stakeholder management and analytical skills, sound judgment and the ability to simplify complex issues.
• Hands-on mindset and ability to deliver quality work within appropriate timelines.
• Team-player mindset.
• Familiarity with digital operational resilience, cyber resilience, IT control frameworks or regulatory expectations is preferred.
• Experience in banking or another highly regulated environment is preferred.
• Technical expertise, including mainframe expertise, is preferred.
• Proficiency in Dutch is preferred but not required.
