Nebius is building a full-stack AI cloud platform for developers and enterprises, covering data and model training through production deployment. Tavily is building infrastructure for agentic web interaction at scale, with APIs designed for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and real-time reasoning in AI systems.

The role involves designing and building the billing platform behind a search engine for agentic AI consumption. The platform supports millions of developers and AI agents, with usage-based pricing, subscriptions, prepaid balances with automatic top-up, and enterprise contracts. Billing correctness is critical: usage must be measured precisely and invoices must be accurate to the cent.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the billing platform end to end, from usage events to invoices.
• Build metering and usage-aggregation pipelines that convert high-volume events into billable amounts.
• Design and operate prepaid credit and wallet systems with automatic top-up and balance management.
• Support enterprise and contract billing with custom pricing, negotiated terms, and scheduled invoicing.
• Build reconciliation, idempotency, and invoice-accuracy safeguards.
• Lead migration to the next generation of the billing system without revenue loss or downtime.
• Define observability and quality metrics for billing correctness, freshness, and throughput.
• Ensure billing systems meet SOX and financial audit requirements.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building production backend systems, including 3+ years actively building and operating billing or metering systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with usage-based or metered billing, including rating, aggregation, and proration logic.
• Experience with subscription and recurring billing alongside usage-based models.
• Experience with prepaid credits, wallet systems, and automatic top-up mechanics.
• Experience with enterprise and contract billing, including custom pricing and negotiated terms.
• End-to-end integration experience with a third-party billing platform such as Stripe Billing, Metronome, Orb, or Zuora.
• Strong expertise in Python and TypeScript/Node; Go is a plus.
• Production experience with transactional databases such as Postgres for financial-grade data.
• Experience building high-volume event and usage pipelines into a data warehouse, such as Kafka or Kinesis to Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Experience owning billing correctness in production, including reconciliation, idempotency, and invoice accuracy.
• Product-led growth experience with billing for high-volume, self-serve users.
• Production experience with Auth0, Okta, or similar identity systems.
• Experience shipping revenue systems under SOX or financial audit constraints.

Nice to Have

• Led a billing system migration or re-platform with zero revenue loss or downtime.
• Built hybrid billing combining usage, subscriptions, and prepaid balances in one system.
• Experience across both a payments layer such as Stripe and a metering or rating layer such as Metronome or Orb.
• Experience billing a developer-facing or API product with pay-as-you-go and API-key metering.
• Experience using Snowflake for usage aggregation and revenue analytics.
