Join the NVIDIA Developer Tools team and empower engineers worldwide who are developing products in Automotive, VR, Gaming, Deep Learning, and High Performance Computing. Developers and third-party tool developers use NVIDIA products to debug, profile, and analyze the correctness of their systems and applications using products and low-level APIs contributed by the Developer Tools team. The role involves developing debugging and performance analysis capabilities for future generations of NVIDIA GPUs and working with sophisticated simulation and emulation systems to bring new GPU technologies to market.

This position is part of a dynamic, worldwide team developing and maintaining desktop and mobile Developer Tools products hosted on and targeting Windows, Linux, Android, and other embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of compute programming models and compute architecture to build tools that provide actionable feedback to compute developers.
  • Work in existing driver and application code, write new shared libraries, and develop targeted performance tests.
  • Learn and work with compute and graphics drivers, GPU architectures, and operating systems.
  • Develop Compute Sanitizer, a suite of memory-checking tools for GPUs running on Linux, Windows, and embedded operating systems.
  • Work with tools, compiler, architecture, and driver teams to design, implement, and verify new features in the Compute Sanitizer stack.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external partners, including peer organizations within NVIDIA.
  • Estimate and prioritize tasks to create realistic delivery schedules.
  • Write fast, effective, maintainable, reliable, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct peer reviews, including feedback on performance, scalability, and correctness.
  • Document requirements and designs and review documentation with teams throughout NVIDIA.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Strong programming ability in C, C++, assembly language, and scripting languages.
  • Excellent system programming expertise, including memory management, process and thread management, debugging, and profiling.
  • Excellent knowledge of x86 or ARM CPU computer architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with low-level programming using assembly languages.
  • Understanding of source control systems such as Git and Perforce.
  • Ability to self-manage, communicate, and adapt in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with changing priorities and direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CUDA or OpenCL.
  • Experience with code patching.
  • Knowledge of ELF and DWARF.

Benefits

  • Base salary for Level 4: CAD 170,000–220,000 per year.
  • Base salary for Level 5: CAD 225,000–275,000 per year.
  • Eligibility for equity and benefits.
