Customer.io is looking for a curious, driven Full Stack Product Engineer to own significant product initiatives and build core experiences used by customers. The role involves designing, building, and shipping communication tools powered by real-time behavioral data.

Customer.io's platform is used by more than 8,000 companies to send emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS. The engineering stack includes Go, React, Ember, and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack features in Go, React, and Ember that power key customer workflows.
  • Collaborate with others to turn ideas into shipped customer value.
  • Share knowledge and raise the bar through progress updates, short videos, thoughtful writing, and mentorship.
  • Help evolve systems to scale with more customers, messages, and use cases.
  • Use AI agents to make multi-file changes by scoping the work, writing prompts, and verifying the output.
  • Own problems end to end, move quickly, act as an owner, and work effectively in ambiguity.
  • Apply product thinking and care about frontend polish, backend performance, and the overall customer experience.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building and scaling backend services and product-facing features.
  • Fluency in TypeScript, React or a similar frontend framework, and a statically typed backend language such as Go.
  • Strong attention to frontend polish, backend performance, and customer experience.
  • Proficiency with APIs and relational databases.
  • Experience writing testable, performant code.
  • A bias for action over perfection and pride in owning technical decisions.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Starting salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD, or equivalent in local currency, depending on experience and subject to market-rate adjustment.
