Details
The Automotive Vehicles team is seeking a creative and experienced software engineer to help develop and productize NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle solutions. You will work with multifunctional engineering teams across vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into the autonomous vehicle software platform while meeting NVIDIA and automotive standards and guidelines.
The role focuses on building robust and scalable simulation infrastructure to test and validate self-driving technology over millions of virtual miles.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, improve, and maintain metrics and test sets supporting large-scale KPIs and performance measurements for autonomous driving systems.
- Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, test engineering, and release teams to build and scale test solutions that address coverage and framework gaps and mitigate project risks.
- Build and improve tools that automate and scale test sets through metrics, data quantity, quality, and diversity, enabling test-driven development across the company.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues affecting the performance and reliability of KPIs and simulation frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, master's degree, or PhD in an engineering or science field.
- Five or more years of software engineering and data analysis experience, preferably in simulation, autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, or related areas.
- Proficiency in Python and a deep understanding of software engineering practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in situations involving high ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Curiosity and a desire to investigate problems in depth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scaling the use of autonomous vehicle simulation frameworks.
- Experience with or knowledge of AI/ML systems, or experience working with AI-native systems.
- Experience with large-scale simulation for hardware or software validation of robotics solutions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary for Level 3: USD 152,000–241,500 per year.
- Base salary for Level 4: USD 184,000–287,500 per year.
- Eligibility for equity and benefits.
- The base salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
