Details

NVIDIA is hiring a Senior Staff Engineer to guide the invention, reliability, security, and evolution of global employee communications and collaboration platforms. The role focuses on Microsoft Exchange, Azure-based services, SMTP/IMAP integrations, and enterprise SaaS collaboration platforms including Slack, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and operate highly available messaging solutions using Microsoft Exchange on-premises, hybrid Exchange, Exchange Online/O365, Azure services, SMTP relays, and IMAP.
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards and best practices across regions and environments.
  • Plan and execute server upgrades and monthly patching while ensuring compliance and audit requirements are met.
  • Monitor health, performance, and capacity; analyze logs, traces, and protocol flows to prevent incidents, minimize downtime, and optimize throughput and user experience.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mail flow issues involving SMTP/IMAP, connectors, transport rules, and messaging architecture.
  • Implement encryption, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, antivirus, antispam protections, and secure configuration baselines using tools such as Microsoft Defender.
  • Lead or support migrations, tenant consolidations, and mergers and acquisitions; define requirements and integration points with enterprise messaging applications and services.
  • Handle day-to-day operations and escalations.
  • Mentor engineers and architects and promote documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and support enablement.
  • Partner on the management and operation of large-scale enterprise SaaS collaboration platforms, including onboarding, provisioning, policy governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop strategies for improving messaging and collaboration ecosystems through evolving technologies, AI-driven operational automation, agents, and modern automation frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience architecting and managing Exchange Server on-premises and Exchange Online/O365, Public Folders, SMTP, Active Directory, and Azure integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership of the user experience for enterprise services.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange architecture, including Database Availability Groups (DAGs) and hybrid configurations.
  • Strong communication, planning, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multifunctional teams, principals, and architects across organizational boundaries and geographies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading large-scale messaging platforms and resolving critical-severity issues.
  • Experience managing large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms such as Slack, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Google Workspace, including onboarding, daily operations, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience automating enterprise service operations and administration using AI, agents, or modern automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; Python scripting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of email-related networking concepts, including DNS and VIP routing.

Benefits

The base salary range is USD 168,000–264,500 for Level 4 and USD 196,000–310,500 for Level 5, depending on location, experience, and compensation for similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA is an equal opportunity employer.
