Details
NVIDIA is seeking a Software Engineer to join an international development team building technology for sophisticated data centers worldwide. The role focuses on embedded platforms, operating systems, software distribution, and system software for DPU and sophisticated SoC platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop system software components, including processor firmware, boot loaders, kernel drivers and modules, user-space applications, and libraries.
- Collaborate with hardware and product design teams to build software for sophisticated SoC platform designs.
- Support global teams with customer and internal DPU projects.
- Address complex system-level optimization and resource utilization challenges.
- Participate in all stages of the product development lifecycle, with a focus on clear requirements, software quality, and performance.
- Work within a worldwide, matrixed software development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience developing software for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C and Python.
- Strong interest in understanding the system software stack, including platform firmware, device drivers, the Linux kernel, software/hardware interactions, and user-space application performance.
- Knowledge of high-performance processor architecture, including CPU and cache coherency concepts and hardware accelerators.
- Strong engineering skills in technical investigation, building, testing, and agile software development processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with build and development tools including GCC, Git, GitHub, Make, BitBake, shell scripts, Gerrit, and Jenkins.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ARMv8 microarchitecture, ATF, and/or UEFI software.
- Familiarity with multiple Linux distributions and the ability to compare and contrast them.
- Knowledge of secure boot flows and/or trusted computing environments.
