About the Team

Stripe Checkout helps businesses, from fast-growing startups to enterprises, accept payments without building checkout from scratch. The team offers checkout surfaces ranging from no-code and low-code checkout pages to embedded payment forms and highly customized checkout flows. The team is expanding the suite to support emerging business models and continually optimizing checkout experiences to create profitable, safe checkouts.

Responsibilities

Define the design direction for new features and checkout surfaces across the conversion funnel.
Lead design explorations from initial concept through launch.
Evolve and push boundaries on visual language, component patterns, and design systems.
Shape early product strategy through design exploration and rapid prototyping, making abstract opportunities tangible for product and engineering partners.
Represent Checkout in senior reviews and establish the creative bar for new product directions.

Requirements

8+ years of relevant experience at a technology or product-driven company.
Deep fluency in visual design, interaction design, systems thinking, and prototyping with AI tools.
Experience leading complex work in close partnership with product management, engineering, and design leadership.
Experience shaping ambiguous spaces and driving clarity through design.
Confidence presenting work to senior leaders and communicating design decisions through clear, compelling storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading changes to a design system.
Ability to explain work, processes, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and actively incorporate feedback.
Background in SaaS, e-commerce, or fintech products.
