Details
Anthropic is seeking experienced software engineers to join the Platform Ecosystem team within its Platform organization. The team helps industries build on Claude and develops the commercial infrastructure that enables businesses using the platform to grow.
This is a founding team where the engineer will drive 0 → 1 initiatives from ideation through delivery, work closely with product, design, research, and forward-deployed engineering teams, and help shape product and business strategy in new domains. The role requires the ability to work across different technology stacks, investigate ambiguous opportunities, and deliver high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Build capabilities, integrations, and workflows that help industries such as life sciences and healthcare adopt Claude safely and at scale.
- Work with product, design, research, and forward-deployed engineers to understand industry requirements.
- Develop products that enable new categories of customers to use the Claude platform.
- Design and operate commercial systems that allow businesses building on Claude to price, package, and sell their products.
- Build platform controls that support monetization and give businesses confidence in operating on Claude.
- Drive projects from design through development, deployment, operations, and ongoing improvement.
- Make independent technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Build robust, scalable, and easy-to-use systems for engineers and businesses.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer.
- Some frontend engineering experience.
- Strong product sense and the technical ability to address a wide variety of challenges.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners to develop and execute product strategy in new domains.
- Familiarity with using AI tools in the software development process.
- A product-focused approach to platform engineering.
- Ability to work across both 0 → 1 initiatives and more mature team or company environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Relevant education, training, coursework, or professional experience.
Work Arrangement
The role follows a location-based hybrid policy. Staff are currently expected to work from one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office attendance. Preference will be given to candidates based in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, or the Bay Area.
