Tag name is followed by "@" symbol and proficiency level value.
About proficiency levels:
- 1-2 — basic awareness. Minimal hands-on experience, and a rudimentary understanding of the technology's purpose;
- 3-6 — daily use. Comfortable and regular usage, capable of handling common tasks and challenges related to the technology;
- 7-9 — you are an expert, you can teach others, you know all the pitfalls and tricks;
- 10 — exceptional knowledge, comprehensive understanding, and adeptness in all aspects of the technology, including advanced problem-solving. Think twice before claiming or demanding such level.

Details
Platform Intelligence turns each new Claude model's abilities into API features that developers can build on. The team makes the full intelligence of each model available through the API, including tool use, web search, code execution, thinking controls, structured outputs, and memory, files, and skills APIs.
The team also owns the API side of Claude model launches, including safety features and controls. This involves coordinating with research, safeguards, product, and cloud partners to ensure that the model, its features, SDKs, and documentation ship together.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and operation of API capabilities used by developers worldwide.
- Work with research to understand new model capabilities and turn them into simple, durable, and safe interfaces.
- Lead the API side of new model launches, including planning, readiness tracking, cross-team coordination, issue resolution, and launch execution.
- Set technical direction for work spanning multiple teams.
- Write design proposals and review API designs from other teams.
- Mentor engineers on the team.
- Take new model abilities from research prototypes through interface design, production rollout, and public API release.
- Build and operate tools such as web search and code execution under real traffic.
- Automate manual parts of model launches.
- Build evaluations that identify capability regressions before launches.
Requirements
- Experience leading technical projects spanning multiple teams from design through launch and operation.
- Experience designing and operating production distributed systems where correctness, latency, and availability matter.
- Strong product sense and care for API design and developer experience.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions with incomplete information and changing models or priorities.
- Ability to explain tradeoffs clearly to research, product, go-to-market partners, and non-engineers.
- Experience improving other engineers through design reviews and mentoring.
- Regular use of AI tools when designing, building, and reviewing software.
- Interest in the societal impacts of the work and Anthropic's mission to build safe, beneficial AI.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. The field of study must be relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
Strong candidates may also have experience with:
- Public APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms.
- Large language models, including tool use, agents, or evaluations.
- Launches or migrations with fixed deadlines and many dependent teams.
- Tools for agents, such as search or code execution.
- Storage, memory, or context systems at scale.
- Integrations with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Benefits
Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and an office space for collaboration. The company currently expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more office time. Anthropic sponsors visas and makes reasonable efforts to obtain visas for candidates who receive offers, with support from an immigration lawyer.
