Airbnb is seeking a technical, hands-on Staff Technical Program Manager to lead Infrastructure Security initiatives. The role partners with security and infrastructure engineers, senior individual contributors, and senior leaders to keep the Airbnb platform secure, resilient, and transparent. The position focuses on cloud and data infrastructure security and requires strong program leadership combined with hands-on technical depth.

Responsibilities

Shape and influence the technical direction of infrastructure security projects while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting stakeholder needs.
Rapidly prototype and validate project ideas through iterative development cycles, adapting based on insights and data.
Balance broad, outcome-driven thinking with attention to critical details and prioritize areas requiring deep focus.
Define and secure stakeholder alignment on clear, measurable success criteria for security initiatives.
Assess risks and opportunities, and develop proactive mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum and success.
Maintain transparent and effective communication with stakeholders regarding progress, developments, and challenges.
Present outcomes and updates to senior leadership, clearly articulating trade-offs, risks, and emerging opportunities.
Frame ambiguous problems, identify paths forward, and drive initiatives through completion.
Lead data-driven analyses, influence results, and work effectively with teams operating at different cadences.

Requirements

10+ years of professional experience, including at least 8 years as a Technical Program Manager or in relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity and develop detailed solutions.
Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
Sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence others.
Proven ownership of initiatives and experience leading data-driven analyses.
Hands-on technical experience with infrastructure security, including identity and access management, network security, encryption and key management, secure configuration, container and Kubernetes security, and data protection in cloud environments or data platforms.
Familiarity with incremental delivery and deployment.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills.

Location

US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Compensation

The base pay range is $200,000–$250,000 USD per year. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
