Details
NVIDIA is searching for a highly motivated, creative engineer to join the GPU Software team. As a GPU/SOC system software engineer, you will work with dedicated software and hardware engineers across a wide variety of technologies. You will craft and debug key aspects of production GPU and SOC kernel drivers and embedded software, focusing on platform performance, power savings, and robustness. The role requires the ability to excel in an environment with intricate system-level interactions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and debug changes in the NVIDIA software stack to take next-generation hardware from the design and development stage through production, with a focus on kernel-mode software.
- Follow devices through the full development process to datacenter systems, customer desktops, notebooks, workstations, and gaming console products used throughout the world.
- Participate extensively in emulation, bring-up, and product hardening required to build NVIDIA products.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with teams around the globe.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Experience solving problems involving sophisticated systems deployed at scale.
- Strong C and C++ programming skills, along with demonstrated initiative in independent coding projects.
- Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals, including caches, buses, memory controllers, and DMA.
- Strong operating systems fundamentals and kernel experience on Linux or Windows systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- System-level software and hardware debugging experience.
- Familiarity with Windows Driver Models; experience with WDDM or MCDM is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with system-level security concepts.
- Experience with system software concepts.
Compensation And Benefits
The base salary range is USD 184,000ā287,500 for Level 4 and USD 224,000ā356,500 for Level 5. Base salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
