Details
NVIDIA is seeking an experienced System Software Engineer to develop boot, firmware, and software solutions that safeguard next-generation system-on-chips (SoCs). The role focuses on challenging low-level system software, collaboration with engineering teams, and bringing innovative silicon from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate SoC and GPU boot and security software across automotive, embedded, and data center platforms.
- Participate in the new silicon lifecycle, from pre-silicon simulation and emulation through silicon power-on bring-up.
- Identify, debug, and resolve issues within the boot stack.
- Collaborate with architecture, software, and hardware build teams to improve the next generation of NVIDIA SoCs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in bare-metal firmware development, particularly with PCIe, ACPI, and ARM/RISC-V technologies.
- Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessors, and microcontroller fundamentals, including caches, buses, and DMA.
- Expertise in C programming and outstanding debugging skills.
- Defensive security programming skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with boot process intricacies on sophisticated SoCs.
- Understanding of GPU software kernel drivers and firmware.
- Experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up of complex SoCs.
- Experience using generative AI-based workflows for system software development and debugging.
- Experience working with third-party SoC vendors and their software.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range of $152,000–$241,500 for Level 3.
- Base salary range of $184,000–$287,500 for Level 4.
- Eligibility for equity and benefits.
