The Product & Platform teams are responsible for delivering impactful offerings such as ChatGPT, the API platform, and enterprise capabilities to global customers. Technical Program Managers partner with product, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to scale these efforts and ensure disciplined execution.
This role drives complex, large-scale product and platform initiatives across ChatGPT, API, and related surfaces. It sits at the intersection of technical strategy and execution, translating product vision into actionable plans, shaping consumer and developer experiences, and ensuring delivery across web, mobile, and platform layers. The role requires deep technical fluency, product sense, and a strong execution track record, including the ability to influence architectural direction and lead cross-functional delivery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to shape roadmaps, technical strategies, and long-term platform direction.
- Translate product vision into scalable technical execution plans while balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform evolution.
- Lead end-to-end execution of cross-functional product and platform programs from planning through launch and iteration.
- Own timelines, milestones, dependency management, risk mitigation, and accountability across teams.
- Partner with engineering teams to influence architectural decisions and interface definitions for public and internal APIs.
- Understand full-stack systems across client-side web and mobile and server-side API and back-end surfaces to ensure holistic, performant solutions.
- Coordinate across product, design, engineering, legal, policy, and go-to-market stakeholders.
- Align priorities and unblock teams through structured execution and consistent communication.
- Provide clear updates to technical and executive stakeholders on program health, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Influence product and leadership decisions by representing developer and customer perspectives.
- Identify systemic inefficiencies and propose tools or processes to improve product delivery and cross-team velocity.
- Use data and AI-powered internal tooling to track progress, surface gaps, and optimize product and developer experiences.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of experience driving high-impact technical programs in product and platform domains.
- Strong technical acumen across front-end and client technologies, API development, and scalable systems architecture.
- Experience delivering developer-facing tools or platforms and advocating for end-user and developer experience.
- Strong program management discipline, including managing concurrent efforts, leading complex execution, and bringing clarity to ambiguity.
- Product intuition and the ability to connect user needs to technical tradeoffs and platform decisions.
- Highly structured and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to foster alignment and move cross-functional teams forward.
- Curiosity, hands-on engagement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with high trust and high standards.
