What if you could help transform the finance function of one of the largest financial institutions in the Netherlands using Artificial Intelligence?
At ING, we believe the future of Finance is not just about reporting numbers, it is about reimagining how work gets done. We are looking for ambitious AI-minded students who want to apply cutting-edge technology to solve real business challenges, automate manual processes, and help build the next generation of Finance operations. ING views innovation, automation, and AI as key enablers to improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and control within Finance.
This is not a theoretical research internship. You will work directly with Finance professionals, process experts, and senior stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can eliminate repetitive work, strengthen controls, simplify processes, and create lasting value for ING.
Responsibilities
- Identify manual and repetitive activities that can be automated through AI
- Design and develop AI-powered solutions, Copilot agents, and intelligent workflows
- Work alongside Finance, Risk, Data, and Technology specialists
- Translate complex business processes into scalable AI solutions
- Experiment with emerging technologies and help bring innovative ideas into production
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization
Most importantly, you will leave a tangible and lasting impact on the way Finance operates.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Experience with programming, data analysis, automation, or AI technologies
- Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset; enjoys understanding how things really work
- Proactive ownership and effective communication skills; comfortable collaborating with diverse stakeholders
- Interest in how technology can transform organizations and drive business value
- Mandatory: during the internship you must be enrolled at a Dutch university (or an EU university for EU passport holders)
