Details
Are you a Data Scientist fascinated by the financial sector and eager to explore banking products? You will join the Advanced Analytics and AI Center of Expertise (AA&AI CoE) within the Transaction Banking Data Domain. The team uses data for strategic, operational, and tactical decision-making across accounts, payment cards, savings, insurance, open banking APIs, trade finance, digital products such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and associated business and risk management processes.
The Transaction Banking Data Domain has more than 40 members across the Netherlands and India. The team works according to agile principles on cross-departmental and cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with business experts, business developers, product owners, senior colleagues, and leaders.
Responsibilities
- Drive Advanced Analytics and AI innovation by developing use cases with emerging technologies.
- Design and develop AI solutions involving Machine Learning, Generative AI, and AI Agents in collaboration with ML Engineers, AI Architects, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts.
- Translate business challenges into data questions and identify appropriate analytical techniques.
- Lead and contribute to projects end-to-end, delivering value incrementally through individual ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Explore and experiment with diverse product, transaction, channel, customer, and CRM or sales datasets.
- Advise business stakeholders on relevant KPIs, reports, and insights.
- Communicate insights through structured storytelling, clear visualizations, and well-organized work practices.
- Guide non-technical stakeholders and team members on Advanced Analytics cases.
- Stay current with trends in advanced analytics, Generative AI, and cloud platforms such as Databricks.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation of analytical solutions and processes.
Requirements
- Degree in STEM or economics/business with an analytics focus.
- 6–8 years of work experience, including at least 3 years in data science.
- High proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and coding best practices.
- Experience with Machine Learning and AI, including forecasting, prediction, cluster analysis, Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, document processing, and AI Agents.
- Strong analytical, communication, reporting, and intellectual curiosity skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
- Knowledge of the financial sector and/or banking products is an advantage.
- Experience with Azure, Databricks, or similar cloud platforms is an advantage.
- Affinity for data and machine learning engineering topics.
- Microsoft DP-100 certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of agile methodology and the ability to manage multiple priorities are desirable.
- Microsoft AZ-900 certification is desirable.
