Details

Anthropic is scaling its compute infrastructure across a portfolio of data center builds with multiple developer partnerships. The Data Center Planning team owns the integrated view of compute allocation, decision locks, delivery progress, and the frameworks and tooling that support them.

This role will build and drive the plan for data center delivery. Responsibilities include developing the supply model that connects accelerator and compute supply targets to the site pipeline, prioritizing opportunities and configurations, establishing portfolio planning principles, and producing supply forecasts for external partners and internal teams. The role works cross-functionally with deal, design, engineering, delivery, and demand planning teams to move sites toward operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Build the integrated data center supply forecast and its planning assumptions, including committed and pipeline supply by site, design, accelerator type, and tranche, aligned with growth targets.
  • Support and evolve data center portfolio reviews covering the current state of supply, required decisions, and downstream impacts.
  • Partner with technical program management, delivery, and demand planning teams to keep hall readiness, installation plans, and chip supply synchronized.
  • Build and run scenarios to assess the impact of changes to delivery dates, chip tranches, or targets, and develop solvers that recommend ways to close gaps.
  • Plan long-lead resources to hold in inventory to create optionality and determine how they should be allocated strategically.
  • Shape the process by which new sites enter delivery tracking and establish change-management processes for communicating date changes to downstream teams.
  • Support the development of a delivery planning system of record in partnership with the internal tooling team.

Requirements

  • Experience leading supply or capacity planning, or portfolio management, for data centers, power, or similar capital-intensive infrastructure.
  • Experience architecting supply planning processes and driving their cadence through continuous improvement.
  • Experience redesigning a delivery or deployment process at scale and demonstrating measurable improvements.
  • Knowledge of the full data center buildout lifecycle, from acquisition, design, and sourcing through construction, commissioning, and deployment.
  • Experience building planning models or tools with the goal of automation, including the use of AI-assisted development.
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities and risks across functions and drive resolution.
  • Track record of delivering outcomes through influence with cross-functional partners.
  • Minimum education of a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Additional Qualifications

  • Capacity planning, sales and operations planning (S&OP), or deployment planning experience at a hyperscaler or large industrial operator.
  • Supply chain, operations research, or optimization experience, including allocation, scheduling, or design.
  • Experience defining requirements for and establishing an internal planning system of record.
  • Experience publishing detailed forecasts used by external partners for planning.

Compensation and Logistics

  • Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD.
  • Staff are currently expected to work from one of Anthropic's offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office attendance.
  • Anthropic sponsors visas and makes reasonable efforts to support visa applications with assistance from an immigration lawyer, although sponsorship cannot be guaranteed for every role or candidate.
