Details
Bloomberg Connects is a global digital engagement platform for arts and cultural organizations, delivering multimedia guides, interactive content, and multilingual experiences for hundreds of museums, galleries, gardens, and cultural institutions worldwide. As the organization scales its global footprint, it is establishing a dedicated internal IT function to support its people and operations independently of shared corporate infrastructure.
This newly created role is the first and only dedicated IT leadership position for Bloomberg Connects. The successful candidate will define, establish, and govern the organization's enterprise IT and access-management environment, including identity, endpoints, networking, collaboration, security, and business continuity. The role will lead a funded transition from shared infrastructure to a standalone operating model by architecting the environment and directing specialized agencies, managed service providers, and subcontractors.
This is an architect-and-governor role for a deeply technical operator who is personally accountable for outcomes, rather than a hands-on implementation position. The role reports jointly to the Global Head of Bloomberg Connects and senior leadership within Bloomberg Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the IT strategy and roadmap for Bloomberg Connects, building a scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology environment to support global growth.
- Lead the transition from shared infrastructure to a standalone IT operating model.
- Establish core enterprise services, including identity, networking, collaboration, endpoint management, and cloud platforms.
- Oversee global IT operations as a single accountable owner, including end-user support, identity and access management, device lifecycle management, and service delivery.
- Direct managed vendors and agencies responsible for IT operations and hold them accountable to defined standards.
- Develop and maintain a modern cybersecurity program covering endpoint security, identity protection, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Administer access, permissions, and governance for enterprise and platform software selected and implemented by engineering; own the controls rather than the build.
- Evaluate, procure, and manage strategic vendors, managed service providers, and subcontractors.
- Partner with engineering, security, legal, and compliance teams to ensure technology solutions meet operational, regulatory, and governance requirements.
- Establish operating processes, key performance metrics, and documentation as durable deliverables.
- Serve as a trusted technology advisor to executive leadership and align IT investments with business priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement by simplifying operations, automating processes, and enhancing the employee technology experience.

- Demonstrated success leading IT transformation, infrastructure modernization, and vendor management in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to take personal accountability for outcomes without a large internal team.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders and operate credibly across two reporting lines.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
