The Director of Product Management will define the multi-year strategy for the ClickHouse Cloud platform and lead product direction for foundational cloud capabilities, including multi-region replication, distributed query execution, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, storage architecture, and release management. The role works closely with Engineering leadership to scale ClickHouse Cloud alongside customer needs and the open-source ClickHouse platform.
Responsibilities
- Define the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for ClickHouse Cloud, covering cloud-native database capabilities such as multi-region replication, distributed query execution, fault tolerance, storage tiering, schema evolution, and disaster recovery.
- Partner with Engineering leadership to prioritize investments across the core database engine, storage layer, and query execution framework.
- Coach and mentor Product Managers across adjacent platform areas.
- Drive prioritization, resolve cross-team dependencies, and maintain a cohesive platform strategy.
- Partner with Design, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Support, and Customer Success to deliver product launches and customer experiences.
- Balance long-term platform investments with near-term customer commitments and business priorities.
- Make informed investment and resourcing decisions across the platform roadmap with Engineering leadership.
- Advise executives and cross-functional partners on product strategy, execution, risks, and trade-offs.
- Represent ClickHouse with strategic customers, partners, and at industry events, translating customer needs into long-term product direction.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Product Management experience, including significant experience defining strategy for cloud infrastructure, enterprise SaaS, developer platforms, or database products.
- Demonstrated ability to influence product direction across multiple engineering teams and drive large cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern data infrastructure.
- Ability to work at both strategic and technical levels and partner with senior engineering leaders on architectural decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for communicating with engineers, executives, customers, and external audiences.
- Strong understanding of SQL, query execution, indexing, partitioning, and database performance optimization.
- Experience with databases such as ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or other distributed or analytical database systems.
- Familiarity with data lakes, ETL pipelines, CDC, orchestration platforms, and cloud-native data architectures.
- Ability to discuss schema management, query planning, storage engines, replication, consistency models, backup and recovery, and distributed systems design with engineering teams.
- Experience shipping or contributing to infrastructure capabilities such as replication, disaster recovery, storage systems, consistency models, or backup and restore workflows.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience representing products with customers, analysts, or at industry conferences.
- Track record of coaching, mentoring, or guiding Product Managers.

Compensation
The typical starting salary range in the United States is $180,000–$250,000 USD. In US premium markets, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area, the typical starting salary range is $230,000–$290,000 USD. Actual compensation depends on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.
