ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Technical Customer Support Engineer, Federal, to support U.S. public-sector customers, federal agencies, contractors, and systems integrators. The role is part of the global Support Engineering team and focuses on delivering technically deep support while meeting the compliance, security, and operational requirements of federal environments.

This is a U.S. Persons-only role. Candidates must independently qualify as U.S. Persons before consideration. The role also requires adherence to federal access, communication, data-handling, and documentation controls.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical support contact for ClickHouse's U.S. federal and public-sector customers across cases, chat, Slack, and meetings.
  • Develop solutions based on ClickHouse Cloud and ClickHouse open-source, and share them through documentation, knowledge base articles, and internal runbooks tailored to government deployment patterns.
  • Guide customers through deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting within government-authorized environments, including AWS GovCloud-adjacent infrastructure where applicable.
  • Work with Support Services, Engineering, Security and Compliance, Product Management, and Go-To-Market teams to represent federal customer requirements and help prioritize the roadmap.
  • Support technical aspects of federal proofs of concept, security questionnaires, and Authority to Operate (ATO)-adjacent evaluations in partnership with Go-To-Market and Security teams.
  • Provide professional responses, on-call coverage, and guidance within required SLAs for technical cases submitted through ticketing systems, email, Slack, chat, and phone.
  • Build trusted relationships with colleagues, customers, partners, government program stakeholders, systems integrators, and resellers.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status, verified during the interview process before any offer.
  • Technical breadth and depth in ClickHouse open-source or ClickHouse Cloud, or in related domains such as SQL databases, OLAP, cloud-native SaaS, and distributed systems.
  • Previous technical experience as a Support Engineer, Consultant, Database Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with the operational and compliance requirements of federal IT environments, including FedRAMP, DOD IL, AWS GovCloud, air-gapped deployments, or sovereign-cloud environments.
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment when handling sensitive data.
  • A collaborative, empathetic, self-driven, curious, and continuous-learning mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal, state/local/education (SLED), or other public-sector customers in a technical support, technical account management, or solutions engineering capacity.
  • Experience with FedRAMP-authorized services, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or equivalent sovereign or air-gapped cloud environments.
  • An active or recently active U.S. government security clearance.
  • Experience with ClickHouse, open-source technologies, or data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, and RabbitMQ.

Compensation

  • Typical starting salary in the United States: $139,000–$175,000 USD per year.
  • Typical starting salary in U.S. premium markets: $155,000–$194,000 USD per year. Premium market ranges may apply in locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area.
