ClickHouse is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead, Web Platform, to lead the technical evolution of its marketing website and the systems powering its digital presence. This is a hands-on player/coach role involving technical strategy, production code contributions, cross-functional collaboration, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the technical strategy for the ClickHouse web platform.
  • Architect, build, and maintain the marketing website and supporting systems using Next.js, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Strapi.
  • Contribute meaningful production code across the platform.
  • Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Own the technical health of the website, including Core Web Vitals, deployment pipelines, observability, and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to improve self-service capabilities and evolve experimentation and A/B testing infrastructure.
  • Partner with the Content team to improve technical SEO and search performance.
  • Partner with Design to deliver exceptional user experiences while maintaining engineering quality and implementation consistency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand priorities, define technical solutions, and build the web platform roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain high engineering standards through architecture, code reviews, documentation, and technical leadership.
  • Evaluate modern technologies, tooling, and AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Help build and grow a lean, high-performing web engineering team, including partnering on hiring.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience building and operating modern web platforms using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Strong software architecture and systems design experience.
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms, ideally Strapi.
  • Deep understanding of web performance, accessibility, analytics integrations, and modern frontend engineering practices.
  • Experience building reliable production systems with modern deployment, monitoring, and observability tooling.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across design, marketing, and engineering.
  • Pragmatic technical leadership skills, with an interest in mentoring others while remaining close to the code.

  • Experience building high-traffic SaaS websites.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO.
  • Experience building or contributing to design systems.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics platforms and data-driven optimization.
  • Experience using AI-powered developer tools to improve engineering productivity.

Compensation

  • Typical US starting salary: $177,000–$200,000 USD per year.
  • Typical US premium-market starting salary: $197,000–$222,000 USD per year.
  • Premium-market ranges may apply in locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area.
