Frontend Engineer III, Moderation Enforcement

Reddit is seeking a frontend engineer to help build features for the Moderation organization, whose mission is to enable moderators to create and grow meaningful communities. This role focuses on developing scalable, high-quality, low-latency web experiences and contributing to Reddit’s design system and component library.

Responsibilities

• Drive new features end-to-end through prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.
• Help craft a modern user experience for accessing content and communities on Reddit.
• Contribute to Reddit’s design system, component library, UI best practices, and tools that enable teams to work faster and at a higher quality bar.
• Build the technical foundation for future features and experiences.
• Help build a highly scalable, high-quality, and low-latency web platform at Reddit’s scale.
• Partner and collaborate with other teams to deliver high-quality UI components.
• Tackle challenging design and product problems.
• Work cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering teams to deliver excellent user experiences.
• Contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Review code and design documents and provide feedback on product specifications and mocks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in web application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, or another relevant language.
• Experience with one or more frontend web frameworks, such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience with Web Components or LitElement is a significant plus but is not required.
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, or Scala.
• Deep experience with a modern web stack, including JavaScript bundlers or React internals; ability to debug and improve the stack.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation.
• Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
• Self-directed, innovative, and action-oriented approach in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $164,200–$229,900 USD. The role may also be eligible for commission depending on the position offered.

The role is completely remote-friendly within the United States. Employees who live near Reddit offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, or Chicago may use those offices as often as they would like.
