About the Team
The Startup Products team builds Stripe Atlas and other products that help founders start and run a company from anywhere in the world. The team helps founders form their company, raise capital, execute critical legal agreements, access the internet’s best tools, and automate operations.
The team is composed of high-agency, high-ownership product thinkers who care about helping founders and making it easier to start and run a startup. Every person is responsible for making the product the best it can be and ensuring the roadmap contains the highest-impact work for founders.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain user-facing experiences, services, APIs, and systems.
- Make effective tradeoffs involving business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
- Scrutinize, reason clearly about, and make decisions regarding technology and architecture choices.
- Talk with and learn from users, including founders in the first days of starting their company.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience.
- Enjoy working as a generalist across both frontend and backend development.
- Care deeply about user experience and take pride in building products that solve problems and delight users.
- Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, with good intuition for what will last and scale.
- Thrive in collaborative environments involving designers, product managers, lawyers, analysts, and other stakeholders and partners.
- Have a high quality bar, attention to detail, and a commitment to helping teammates deliver polished products.
- Want to own end-to-end product experiences, including product design, architecture, writing code, safely rolling out code, and doing whatever is needed to ship products that help founders succeed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with startups and the challenges founders face.
- Prior experience with Ruby, JavaScript or TypeScript, React, and SQL.
- A track record of building excellent products.
