OpenAI for Financial Services builds AI products for financial institutions and professionals, combining OpenAI models, financial data, and enterprise knowledge to support company research, market analysis, document review, and professional work products.

The role involves building zero-to-one, AI-native products on top of ChatGPT Work and Codex for financial professionals. You will own experiences across the stack, work directly with customers, and collaborate with product, design, research, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to bring new model capabilities into reliable production products.

Responsibilities

• Build a new financial services application within ChatGPT Work and Codex.
• Create intuitive AI-native experiences for company research, financial analysis, document review, and professional work products.
• Develop product experiences around enterprise memory that learn from organizational knowledge, workflows, and context.
• Develop APIs, services, and integrations connecting user experiences with financial data providers, enterprise systems, and OpenAI models.
• Work with product and design to turn ambiguous customer problems into polished, useful, and reliable products.
• Work directly with financial institutions to understand customer needs, unblock deployments, and incorporate feedback into product improvements.
• Partner with research, security, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to take capabilities from early prototype to scaled production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience and a strong track record of building and shipping production software across the stack.
• Expertise in TypeScript, React, and modern web technologies.
• Strong backend development experience with languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing and building complex product interfaces, APIs, and integrations as a cohesive user experience.
• Strong product instincts and the ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into practical, well-engineered solutions.
• Comfort working across the stack and organizational boundaries to ship products.
• High standards for usability, reliability, security, and performance, particularly in enterprise or other high-trust environments.
• Interest in AI and applying model capabilities to complex professional work.
• Direct AI/ML or financial services experience is helpful but not required.
• Experience as a founder, an early startup engineer, or an engineer who has built a new product from scratch is a plus.
