About the Team

The Direct Surfaces Team's mission is to make it delightful for users to manage their money. The team is rebuilding and unbundling the core of Stripe so that, regardless of the business, location, or use case, there is a single place to fulfill all financial needs: Stripe Treasury. This is a 0-to-1 new business at Stripe.

Responsibilities

Deliver a world-class mobile experience for Treasury users, including working with partners to design and launch new features and capabilities.
Scope and lead technical projects, laying the groundwork for products to iteratively evolve and scale.
Design, build, expand, and maintain mobile-specific cross-platform view components, backing APIs, and their services.
Align technical decisions with Stripe's broad strategic initiatives while advocating for the needs of emerging new businesses.
Work with engineers across the company to determine when to leverage existing infrastructure versus when to build a bespoke solution.
Make effective trade-offs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Strong technical background, including 3+ years of industry experience.
Experience building mobile applications, including work beyond just the client.
Understanding of good practices when building and working with UIs and APIs.
Measure success in terms of business impact, not lines of code.
Internalize the best ideas from across the organization and humbly set a vision that others are excited to support.
Work well cross-functionally and earn trust from coworkers at all levels.
Care deeply about mentorship and growing engineers.
Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, with good intuition for what will last and scale.
Thrive in a collaborative environment.
Enjoy working with a diverse group of people and collaborating with teams including Sales, Support, Legal, and Accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using React Native.
Experience ensuring a great user experience and ease of use for product features.
Experience with financial product companies and an interest in financial products and markets.
