About the Team
The Revenue and Financial Automation (RFA) team at Stripe is building a modern, revenue-focused financial management platform for fast-growing, digital-native companies. Hundreds of thousands of businesses use Stripe Billing to collect recurring and one-time payments across various pricing models, including SaaS subscriptions, multi-stage contracts, recovery and retention tools, and Usage-Based Billing through the acquisition of Metronome.
The team’s mission is to make Stripe and Metronome feel like one product, enabling merchants to bill for subscriptions and usage in a single, seamless experience.

Responsibilities
- Scope, architect, and lead technical projects to improve existing features and solve new problems.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Design, build, and maintain user-facing experiences, services, APIs, and systems.
- Make effective trade-offs involving business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term roadmaps.
- Partner with engineers and product managers on infrastructure and other product teams to ensure features are part of an integrated Stripe suite.
- Establish and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and technical design.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 2–5+ years of industry software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
- Strong coding skills in any programming language; the interview process is language agnostic.
- Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work across workstreams and contribute to peers’ success.
- Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and support internal and external users.
- Strong AI adoption skills, including proactively experimenting with AI tools, adapting inefficient manual habits, and innovating to improve performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of software development experience, with an emphasis on modern frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React, as well as building user interfaces.
