Details

SpaceXAI is seeking a Network Operations Technician to operate the growing Starlink Network and the company’s SuperCompute Datacenter Networks. The role involves responding to real-time network events and anomalies, facilitating incident response, supporting engineering teams, managing network changes and maintenance, and improving operational processes within the Network Operations Center.

Responsibilities

  • Detect and triage emerging anomalies on satellites, ground stations, terrestrial network interoperability and interconnections, network colocation sites, and internet points of presence.
  • Provide centralized awareness and management of routine and emergency maintenance performed by SpaceX personnel and partner contractors.
  • Execute rapid incident response for major network disruptions.
  • Own investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution efforts for common network issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support and resolution for complex residential and enterprise escalations in coordination with internal teams.
  • Measure, preserve, and improve the uptime and performance of the Starlink Network.
  • Follow and improve processes used to operate the Starlink Network.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience troubleshooting and operating computer systems in a network, IT, or security setting, including a Network Operations Center, Security Operations Center, or data center operations environment.
  • Ability to take on projects requiring initiative and the development of new expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing needs and requirements.
  • Experience in mission-critical operations where attention to detail and communication are required.
  • Industry-recognized technical certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, or JNCIA are preferred.
  • Ability to perform network troubleshooting using packet captures and/or device telemetry to identify the root cause of network issues.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies including MAC, Wi-Fi, WDM, IPv4, IPv6, STP, VLANs, VXLANs, QinQ, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, RDMA, DNS, DHCP, NTP, NAT, MACsec, ACLs, and anti-DDoS measures.
  • Knowledge of and troubleshooting experience with common consumer devices, including IoT, home security, and smart devices.
  • Residential or business customer interaction experience; customer support experience is preferred.
  • Experience debugging complex systems using data analysis.
  • Basic software experience in Python, SQL, Bash, or similar languages.
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a STEM discipline is preferred.
  • Availability for daytime on-shift rotations and weekends as needed.
