SpaceXAI is seeking an AI Tutor - Physics Specialist to enhance AI technologies by providing high-quality input and labels using specialized software. The role involves collaborating with technical staff to support AI task training, refine annotation tools, and select complex problems from advanced physics fields. Work may include gathering or providing text, voice, and video data, annotations, audio recordings, and video sessions.

The role requires adapting to evolving instructions and interpreting and executing tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use proprietary software applications to provide input and labels on defined projects.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality curated data.
  • Contribute to training new AI tasks in collaboration with technical staff.
  • Help improve the design of efficient annotation tools.
  • Solve physics problems that help guide AI models and improve scientific discovery and application.
  • Select problems from physics fields related to your specialization, provide detailed solutions, and evaluate model responses.
  • Interpret, analyze, and execute tasks based on provided instructions.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in physics or a highly related field.
  • Expertise in one or more physics subdomains, including condensed matter physics, high energy physics, nuclear physics, atomic, molecular and optical physics, quantum computing and information, computational physics, mathematical physics, or interdisciplinary physics such as biophysics.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing informal and professional English.
  • Ability to navigate information resources, databases, and online resources.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong reading comprehension and the ability to exercise autonomous judgment with limited data or materials.
  • Passion for technological advancement and innovation.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Advanced physics expertise demonstrated by multiple publications, preferably including one or more first-author papers in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Previous AI tutoring experience.
  • Teaching experience as a professor, teacher, or tutor.
  • Experience in technical writing, journalism, or a professional writing setting.

Work Arrangement

  • Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs.
  • Full-time, part-time, or contractor arrangements may be available.
  • Contractors have flexible hours and no fixed commitments; projects may average at least 10 hours per week, depending on scope and deliverables.
  • US-based candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois.
  • Personal devices must be a Chromebook, a Mac running macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.
  • Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Compensation And Benefits

  • US-based candidates: $45-$75 per hour, depending on experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications.
