Details

For two decades, NVIDIA has pioneered visual computing, the art and science of computer graphics. With our invention of the GPU—the engine of modern visual computing—the field has expanded to encompass PC games, movie production, product design, medical diagnosis, scientific research and all things AI. Today, AI and visual computing are becoming increasingly central to how people interact with technology.

We are looking for a Principal Developer Technology Engineer to focus on advanced rendering, including path tracing and neural graphics, and the broader adoption of AI technology in games.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leading AAA developers worldwide to optimize GPU and system performance for fast, fluid gameplay with path-traced neural rendering and complex AI behaviors.
  • Develop, profile, optimize, and tune neural rendering algorithms and AI models to maximize available compute resources.
  • Collaborate with architecture and driver teams to ensure optimal experience on current-generation hardware and influence next-generation architecture features.
  • Explore and prototype with the latest GPU technology: develop new techniques using GPUs, build technical demos, write whitepapers, and present at conferences.
  • Travel for on-site visits with developers and for conferences as needed.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related computationally focused science (or equivalent experience).
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience or research.
  • Proficiency in C++ with strong software development, optimization, and debugging skills; solid software engineering background.
  • Very strong math skills, including linear algebra and calculus for problem-solving and performance modeling.
  • Excellent knowledge of real-time graphics and GPU technologies (real-time rendering algorithms including ray/path tracing, shaders, shading languages, and APIs such as DirectX or Vulkan).
  • Hands-on experience with low-level performance optimizations and profiling.
  • In-depth expertise with CPU and GPU architecture fundamentals.
  • Solid understanding of AI fundamentals and the ability to design new AI-based solutions (in addition to using AI tools for productivity).
  • Good communication, organization, and prioritization skills.

Ways to stand out

  • Professional experience in machine learning algorithms and applications.
  • Experience optimizing inference and training workloads.
  • Solid understanding of neural graphics techniques.
  • Experience with Windows or Linux driver development.

Additional information

  • Location: Germany (remote eligibility indicated).
  • #LI-Hybrid (hybrid work tag present).
  • Base salary will be determined based on location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions. For Poland: the base salary range is 483,750 PLN - 838,500 PLN.
