Details
The Ona team at OpenAI is building software factory infrastructure for enterprises. The platform enables AI agents to work in secure, customer-controlled cloud environments with the context, tools, and controls needed to progress across the software lifecycle.
The team helps enterprises move from experimenting with agents to using them reliably in production by solving problems in cloud environments, orchestration, security, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Build developer and security workflows with customers, including project setup, investigation of findings, review of agent-generated changes, and verification of fixes.
- Build Go services and APIs for provisioning cloud environments, running agents in customer infrastructure, and integrating with source control, CI, and other developer tools.
- Design reliable orchestration for long-running, parallel work, including durable state, retries, cancellation, and recovery.
- Build security into execution workflows through permissions, credential handling, isolation, and auditability.
- Own production quality through testing, safe rollouts, observability, performance, and operational reliability.
- Partner with frontend and design colleagues to make complex backend capabilities straightforward to use.
- Own outcomes from understanding user problems and selecting an approach through shipping, operating, and improving solutions.
- Work closely with frontend, infrastructure, and security engineers.
Requirements
- Strong Go skills and experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and state, including failure and recovery analysis.
- Practical experience with Linux, containers, cloud infrastructure, and networking, including routing, DNS, and secure connectivity.
- Ability to design clear APIs and data models that simplify complex workflows.
- Product mindset, with an interest in working closely with customers and owning solutions from problem discovery through launch and iteration.
- Clear communication of technical decisions and ability to work effectively across disciplines and locations.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
- Experience in one or more of developer platforms, workflow engines, Kubernetes, networking, sandboxing, identity systems, security products, or AI-agent workflows is useful.
- Frontend experience is welcome but not required.
