About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager on the Kafka Connect team, you will contribute to building Confluent's data streaming platform and drive its Enterprise feature portfolio. You will be responsible for enabling seamless, enterprise-grade integration between Kafka and common external systems, supporting on-premise deployments and managed services in Confluent Cloud, and using or introducing AI/ML capabilities for the features you build or enhance. You will also work with the field on go-to-market initiatives and serve as a focal point for customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Own the success of a major product initiative, from initial conception and customer development through growth strategy.
  • Become the trusted resource for the product.
  • Enable engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to make appropriate trade-offs, build the right product, and grow it successfully in the market.
  • Develop product strategy and roadmaps in collaboration with customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
  • Support enterprise-grade integrations between Kafka and external systems.
  • Support on-premise deployments and managed services in Confluent Cloud.
  • Use or introduce AI/ML capabilities in product features.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software product manager, ideally working with an enterprise technical product.
  • Empathy for enterprise customers and a passion for solving their problems with software, including hands-on work when needed.
  • Ability to create product strategy and roadmaps in collaboration with customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong technical competency, particularly with distributed data systems, public and private clouds, and stream processing.
  • A bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with a modern integration platform is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise software features such as security, networking, and observability is a plus.
  • An MBA is a strong plus.
