Join the team behind Threat Protection Pro, the NordLynx protocol, and NordVPN. You will help run the infrastructure and services layer that internal Data Analysts, Scientists, and Engineers rely on every day, with a focus on automation, reliability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

Work with a small, senior-leaning SRE team to operate the Infrastructure & Services layer.
Design, build, maintain, and document internal platforms focused on automation, reliability, and scalability.
Own the stability, availability, and security of services including MinIO, Spark, Kafka, OpenSearch, Tableau, and others.
Engineer resilient systems without relying on on-call rotations.
Support Product services such as OpenSearch for real-time analytics and Tableau for longer-term reporting.
Work with Analysts, Scientists, and Engineers to debug queries, code, and workflows.
Drive cost optimization and capacity planning across more than 100 bare-metal servers and petabyte-scale storage.
Diagnose hardware faults, including failing disks and memory, and dispatch remote hands for physical fixes.
Promote automation and engineering best practices through ongoing research and development.
Help shape the team's structure, tooling, and future direction.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, SRE, or DevOps, with demonstrated ownership of system design and architecture.
At least 5 years of production experience working with Linux/Debian.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Git.
Hands-on experience with containerization; all services are containerized.
Production experience managing servers and services with Ansible.
Experience with Grafana and observability tooling.
Experience building and operating GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to debug across the stack and across team boundaries, including other people's code and data workflows.
Practical understanding of server hardware and failure modes, even without physical access.
Excellent written and spoken English.
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and an appetite for solving difficult problems.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience operating MinIO, Spark, Kafka, OpenSearch, or Tableau.
Mentoring or technical leadership experience.
A home lab.
