Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Customer.io is looking for a curious, driven Full Stack Product Engineer to own significant parts of the product and build core experiences for customers. The role involves designing, building, and shipping communication tools powered by real-time behavioral data.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack features in Go, React, and Ember that support key customer workflows.
• Collaborate with teammates to turn ideas into shipped customer value.
• Share knowledge and raise the bar through short videos, thoughtful writing, and mentorship.
• Help evolve systems to support more customers, messages, and use cases.
• Use AI agents to make multi-file changes by scoping work, writing prompts, and verifying the output.
• Own problems end to end, make technical decisions, and drive complex projects through ambiguity.
• Contribute to frontend polish, backend performance, and the overall customer experience.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and scaling backend services and product-facing features.
• Fluency in TypeScript, React or a similar frontend framework, and a statically typed backend language such as Go.
• Strong attention to frontend quality, backend performance, and customer experience.
• Proficiency with APIs, relational databases, and writing testable, performant code.
• A bias for action over perfection and pride in owning technical decisions.

Compensation And Benefits

• Starting salary of $150,000–$200,000 USD, or the equivalent in local currency, depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
