Details
We are a team of technologists that provides Functional Integration solutions as a product to clients across various financial institutions, as well as software infrastructure within Bloomberg. The team is part of the Enterprise Products Platform group and focuses on facilitating machine-to-machine interaction between clients’ systems and Bloomberg products.
Functional Integration solutions transfer large volumes of business-critical financial data, including clients’ positions, transactions, private securities, and pricing information. The engineering team builds stable and scalable backend systems using cloud-based object storage, distributed systems, and microservice architecture. The role also includes full-stack development for customer-facing interfaces and web-based tooling that supports data mapping, data enrichment and overrides, encryption, decryption, and complex client workflows.
Responsibilities
- Understand problems faced by stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborate with teammates and business partners to develop requirements.
- Turn requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
- Develop stable and scalable backend systems for bulk data processing.
- Build sophisticated user interfaces and web-based tooling.
- Mentor, hire, develop, and support other engineers.
- Participate in a self-organizing, collaborative team working in two-week sprints and six-sprint product increments.

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with an object-oriented programming language such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
- Development experience on Linux or UNIX operating systems.
- Experience with object-oriented programming.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Expertise in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Development experience with Python, JavaScript, and C++.
- Familiarity with and experience using the React front-end framework.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Benefits
The salary range is $160,000–$240,000 USD annually, plus benefits and bonus. Benefits may include merit increases, incentive compensation for exempt roles, paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability benefits, a 401(k) match, life insurance, and wellness programs. Benefits are not provided directly to contingent workers, contractors, or interns.
