Details

Bloomberg’s Office Apps team delivers Bloomberg’s real-time market data, reference and historical content, analytics, and services directly inside Microsoft Office. The team supports proprietary financial models used by clients and extends the Bloomberg experience through polished UI tooling and a high-performance library of custom Excel functions.

Responsibilities

Contribute to a widely used Bloomberg Terminal product.
Focus on performance and stability while evolving the experience across Microsoft Office and other productivity applications.
Develop performance-critical backend services, client-side application logic, and developer-facing APIs.
Collaborate with backend infrastructure teams and product managers to build scalable, high-performance software.
Apply testing, automation, and peer review to maintain code quality.

Requirements

4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Recent professional experience with modern C++.
Experience building software for high-performance, multithreaded environments.
Strong focus on code quality, demonstrated through testing, automation, and peer review.
Clear communication and strong collaboration with product and cross-functional stakeholders.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, or willingness to learn.
Exposure to distributed systems, API design, or cloud-based architectures.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary range: USD 160,000–240,000.
