About the Role
The Solutions Engineering team helps Sentry's largest customers embed Sentry into their applications and workflows, from integrating the SDK to ensuring alerts and issues reach the right place at the right time. Solutions Engineers work with customers to support effective application monitoring, improve developer productivity, and increase customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Understand customers' pain points and objectives and translate them into implementation and onboarding plans that demonstrate business value.
- Develop best practices, educational offerings, and content related to error and performance management, open source, and the Sentry product, including how-to articles and videos.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert, helping customers implement software engineering and monitoring best practices.
- Provide workshop-level customer interaction to drive maturity of use and broader adoption.
- Work cross-functionally with product and development teams to provide feedback and align Sentry's product roadmap with improving time to value.
- Help developers identify and resolve application slowdowns and errors.
- Support development teams in increasing developer productivity and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience, with a combination of software engineering and solutions engineering or implementation experience.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages and frameworks including JavaScript, Python, Node.js, Java, PHP, .NET, Ruby, React, React Native, and native mobile development for iOS and/or Android.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and a can-do attitude.
- Interest in technology, developer tools, open source, and the software development life cycle.
- Ability to work with engineers and engineering leaders, develop solutions and resources from scratch, and create scripts, code samples, demos, and sales-consumable collateral.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $200,000 to $240,000 USD. Actual base salary will depend on factors including work location, education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. The role is eligible for employee benefit plans and programs, including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage.
