The Solutions Architecture Team partners with users to realize their full potential through prescriptive solutions that drive growth and success. The team works with founders, C-level executives, finance leaders, product design and engineering teams at large global brands and platforms building financial services solutions with Stripe. It collaborates closely with Account Executives, Professional Services, Customer Success Managers, Partners, Technical Account Managers, Product, and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical discovery, business analysis, and background research on customer operations, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to understand customer objectives and inform proposed solutions.
• Lead strategic engagements and structured discovery processes to align with business priorities.
• Design technically sound solutions and present them through executive briefings, readouts, tailored presentations, and solution demonstrations.
• Identify and articulate expansion opportunities by extending Stripe's footprint into new global markets and business units, including new capabilities and local payment methods.
• Act as the voice of the customer within Stripe's Product and Engineering teams by capturing and championing field insights, trends, and requirements.
• Serve as the technical counterpart to sales executives, providing technical insight and designing solutions for prospective and existing platform users.
• Create technical demonstrations that show how Stripe's platform solves specific business problems, including its value proposition, differentiators, customization potential, and benefits to customers' end users.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role, such as Sales Engineer, pre-sales solution consultant, or Solutions Architect for a global software enterprise.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin for working with enterprise Chinese merchants based in China.
• Executive engagement skills and presence, with the ability to establish relationships with key decision-makers and build credibility at all levels.
• Effective group-facilitation skills and confidence proposing and leading customer meetings.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures.
• Experience writing code in Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, or other primary deployment languages is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• Ownership mindset and passion for driving change.
• Ability to travel according to business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or fintech.
• Prior consulting experience.
• Experience at a growth-stage internet or software company.
