Details
Grafana Labs is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join its Commercial Solutions Engineering team. The team consists of customer-facing product experts who support worldwide growth by educating potential and existing customers through demonstrations, hands-on enablement, presentations, technical evaluations, and ongoing customer interaction.
The role partners closely with Sales to qualify and close opportunities and serves as a communication channel between customers, Product Management, and Engineering. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, learning new technologies, and working with open-source technologies or in the metrics and monitoring space.
Responsibilities
- Join an early member of a high-growth team solving technical and customer problems.
- Partner with Sales to articulate Grafana's value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
- Own technical customer engagements and help close high-velocity opportunities through competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility.
- Deliver product and technical presentations to prospective and existing customers.
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams to provide feedback on products and the competitive landscape.
- Drive product conversations based on customer needs and problems identified during interactions.
- Enhance documentation, write blog posts, record videos, contribute knowledge base articles, and create other public and internal enablement materials.
Requirements
- Ideally located on the West Coast of the United States.
- 5+ years of technical pre-sales experience, ideally with open-source technologies or in the metrics and monitoring space.
- Strong judgment, collaboration, and leadership skills in a startup environment with varied and complex responsibilities.
- Ability to work and collaborate with an international, remote-first team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate the company's value proposition and the technical advantages of its products.
- A technical mindset and desire to continue growing technically.
- Experience may include technical pre-sales, post-sales, engineering, or a coding bootcamp background.
- Self-motivation, initiative, creativity, and a willingness to solve challenging customer problems.

Compensation
The United States on-target earnings compensation range is $182,000–$226,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skill set.
