Consensys is seeking a Staff Motion Designer to join MetaMask's Design Systems team. The role will shape how motion appears across MetaMask, from interaction details to larger expressive moments, while defining a shared motion language and building scalable systems for consistent use across the product.
The role involves prototyping, exploring, refining, and collaborating closely with product designers and engineers to bring motion into production in a natural, performant, and scalable way. MetaMask's design team aims to reduce friction while preserving user trust and making Web3 easier and safer to use.
Responsibilities
- Use motion to make the product easier to understand by helping users see what is happening, what changed, and what to do next.
- Define a shared motion language for MetaMask, including how interfaces move, respond, and feel across surfaces.
- Build patterns, guidelines, and reusable assets that allow motion to scale across teams and platforms.
- Introduce moments of delight where they add value without creating distraction.
- Partner with product designers and engineers to bring motion into the product in a natural and performant way.
- Use prototypes to explore and communicate interaction ideas.
- Contribute to the overall level of craft across the team through feedback and collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience working with motion in digital products.
- Experience using animation and interaction to make complex experiences easier to understand.
- Ability to define motion languages and patterns that create consistency across screens, features, and platforms.
- Experience building scalable systems, including guidelines, reusable assets, or components.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineers to bring motion into production across platforms.
- Strong prototyping skills for exploring and communicating interaction concepts.
- Ability to balance clarity and delight, understanding when motion helps guide users and when it may get in the way.
- Commitment to high craft standards through feedback, collaboration, and hands-on contribution.

The role is remote in the United States, Canada, and LATAM. Applications from candidates based in France, Italy, or Germany cannot be considered. The listed salary range applies to US-based candidates only; compensation outside the US is determined based on location, experience, and skills during the interview process.
US pay range, excluding bonus, equity, and other benefits: $146,000โ$218,000 USD.
