Senior Design Engineer - MetaMask

Consensys is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join the Design team supporting MetaMask, a widely used cryptocurrency wallet. The role focuses on creating intuitive, polished experiences across the MetaMask mobile app and browser extension for millions of Web3 users.

The successful candidate will work closely with designers, engineers, and product managers to take ideas from prototype to production. They will build in React and React Native, contribute to the design system, implement animations and micro-interactions, and develop agentic workflows that improve design-to-code and engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build pixel-perfect interfaces in React and React Native with strong attention to detail.
• Design and implement animations and micro-interactions.
• Translate Figma designs into accessible, production-ready experiences.
• Build agentic workflows and tooling to accelerate design-to-code and engineering work.
• Grow the MetaMask design system with reusable, accessible components for multiple platforms.
• Move quickly from ideas to prototypes and validate solutions with real users.
• Advocate for high-quality craft and polished user interactions across mobile and browser extension experiences.

Requirements

• A portfolio demonstrating polished interfaces and interactions, including motion and interaction details rather than only static screens.
• Experience shipping high-traffic, consumer-facing products using React and React Native.
• Fluency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with cross-platform frontend architecture, performance, accessibility, and scalable UI patterns.
• Strong interaction design and motion-design judgment, including experience with animations and haptics.
• Strong Figma literacy.
• Good judgment about when to polish and when to ship.
• Ability to work autonomously across a distributed, global team.
• Hands-on experience with crypto wallets, blockchain, or related Web3 products.
