Details
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Infrastructure team provides efficient and optimized infrastructure for building secure, reliable, and differentiated products, while enabling Stripe developers to achieve their highest potential.
Responsibilities
- Work with teams across the organization to understand infrastructure pain points, identify common ideas, and create solutions spanning multiple domains.
- Define and produce high-quality written proposals, communications, and documentation.
- Execute technical programs requiring deep systems and engineering-level knowledge.
- Partner with Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Engineers, and other Technical Program Managers to define, scope, and drive large programs to conclusion.
- Help shape technical design, predict technical roadblocks, and identify trade-offs in collaboration with engineers.
- Develop, implement, and iterate on program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs with well-defined success criteria.
- Elevate engineering teams' execution capabilities and train them to improve delivery where needed.
- Influence peers and stakeholders and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.
- Leverage data and acquired knowledge to drive strategic decisions at an engineering leadership level.
- Create widely circulated plans that drive consistency, clarity, and alignment across teams.
- Operationalize and execute critical cross-functional programs spanning Developer Infrastructure, Core Infrastructure, and Service Infrastructure organizations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or technical program management experience.
- Experience with core infrastructure, including databases, cloud compute, networking, and services.
- Understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to digest complex information, distill it, and make recommendations and proposals.
- Track record of providing program management throughout all phases of software development, from kickoff to launch, including critical thinking, challenging norms, and thought leadership.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and senior leaders.
- Experience driving internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
- Ability to operate autonomously and rapidly and lead large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of software architecture, systems design, and service-oriented architecture.
- Comfort working in a fast-changing environment as the AI tool chain evolves.
- Comfort working with geographically distributed teams.
- Background in technical program management in software infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, databases, and service frameworks.
- Experience writing and debugging SQL.
