Details

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Technical Solutions Engineering team supports developer-users, champions developer experience, and helps developers launch and grow businesses on Stripe.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with external developers and help them build applications against Stripe’s infrastructure using programming languages and technologies including Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, Node.js, .NET, React.js, React Native, Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, and Java for Android.
  • Unblock developers with complex integration challenges through email, ticketing software, internal issue trackers, community platforms such as Stack Overflow, and real-time chat tools such as Slack and Discord.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external documentation, examples, integration demos, and code snippets demonstrating Stripe infrastructure usage patterns.
  • Identify friction points for developers and collaborate with engineering teams to improve Stripe products. Participate in planning sessions, design reviews, and development meetings.
  • Develop and maintain internal support tooling for Technical Solutions Engineering and Stripe Support, such as a retrieval-augmented-generation LLM-based Copilot tool or the Invoice Explainer Admin tool.
  • Act as an internal developer advocate and educational resource by assembling training for non-developers and responding to product integration questions in real time.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of full-stack software development experience, with a proven track record of building web or mobile applications that deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Experience explaining technical concepts and the ability to explain how Stripe works to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to write clean code in multiple programming languages and read code that may not be well written.
  • Ability to help users during working hours in the relevant region. Weekend coverage may occasionally be required for monitoring or supporting critical infrastructure.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • General software engineering skills and the ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
  • Experience teaching or coaching developers is preferred.
  • Comfort working autonomously with limited supervision is preferred.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related analytical field is preferred.

This role is remote but requires candidates to be located in the Mountain or Pacific time zones.
