As Value Domain Lead Payment Instruments & Merchant Services, you will lead a strategically important payments domain within Transaction Banking. You will shape the future of how clients pay and get paid, driving innovation across cards, cash, online payments, and merchant services. The domain covers a broad portfolio of products, processes, applications, and strategic partnerships, contributing to customer value, fee income, and the bank's future relevance in payments.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision and strategy for Payment Instruments & Merchant Services.
- Shape future payment propositions across cards, cash, online payments, and merchant services.
- Lead performance improvements across financial, operational, and customer experience dimensions.
- Represent the bank in strategic partnerships, external forums, and industry initiatives.
- Anticipate market developments and regulatory changes and turn them into opportunities.
- Drive prioritisation and investment decisions with stakeholders across a broad portfolio of products and initiatives.
- Lead and inspire Product Owners, Business Developers, and other colleagues within and outside the domain.
- Build a high-performing environment where ownership, innovation, and collaboration flourish.
- Provide teams with direction, context, and trust so they can perform at their best.
- Act as the entrepreneur for the domain by understanding the market and products, developing next-generation client solutions, and connecting people, ideas, and capabilities across the organisation.
- Manage strategic partnerships, including closing partnership agreements and managing partner relationships and performance.
Working Environment
The Value Domain Payment Instruments & Merchant Services is part of the overarching Value Domain Transaction Services within the Value Stream Transaction Banking. The domain operates at the intersection of customer needs, technology innovation, regulatory developments, and industry transformation.
Within Cash, Cards, Online Payments, and Merchant Services, more than 10 BizDevOps teams act as end-to-end owners of products, processes, applications, and external partnerships. Partners include Geldmaat, MasterCard, ICS, and Wero.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading large strategic portfolios with commercial and operational impact.
- Ability to develop a compelling vision and translate strategy into execution.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including executive-level interaction.
- Experience working in regulated environments and managing complex risk and compliance considerations.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and help others navigate it.
- Natural ability to inspire teams and create followership.
- Entrepreneurial mindset combined with strong delivery discipline.
- Strong experience in payments and curiosity about payment developments.
- Proven track record in closing partnership agreements and managing relationships and performance.
- Deep expertise in payments and experience navigating complex environments.
