DevOps Engineer

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to develop innovative solutions and optimize Identity & Access for information security within ABN AMRO's CISO department. The role involves managing a hybrid infrastructure environment, supporting Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, and driving Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Azure cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, and IT compliance activities.

Responsibilities

On-Premises Infrastructure Management

• Maintain and support on-premises infrastructure hosting COTS applications.
• Perform reliability engineering work to ensure high availability, performance, and stability.
• Monitor systems proactively, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Plan and execute infrastructure changes, upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance.

Azure DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure

• Manage and administer Azure DevOps, including repositories, boards, and build and release pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable and automated deployments.
• Manage Azure infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code practices for consistent and repeatable deployments.

Compliance and Governance

• Provide evidence and documentation for IT guardrails to demonstrate compliance with European Central Bank (ECB) policies.
• Collaborate with compliance, security, and audit teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Ensure infrastructure and processes comply with internal security and governance standards.

Working Environment

You will join the Dexterous team, which provides core client back-end authentication services to major business lines, including retail and private banking. The authentication services primarily use COTS products rather than in-house-built applications. The team also manages the lifecycle of client-related access tools, including debit cards, mobile devices, and physical QR scanners.

The office in Amstelveen is the home office. ABN AMRO offers a hybrid way of working, with an expectation of working two days per week in the office and choosing the locations or moments for the rest of the week. Resources for a home office, including an ergonomic chair, desk, and laptop, are provided.

Requirements

• A relevant degree, such as Computer Science, Information Science, or another IT-related background.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar infrastructure or reliability role.
• Strong hands-on experience managing on-premises infrastructure, including Windows/Linux servers, networking, storage, and virtualization.
• Solid expertise with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and Microsoft Azure services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM or Bicep.
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, ideally within financial services; ECB experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience supporting COTS applications in enterprise environments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and reliability engineering practices.
• Excellent spoken and written Dutch communication skills.
• A process-oriented approach, analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and strong troubleshooting skills.
