Details
OpenAI’s Finance organization is helping build the company and finance team of the future. Across Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Real Estate & Workplace, Corporate Development, and Economic Research, teams are using OpenAI’s products to reshape core workflows, improve operating leverage, and surface practical lessons about how AI changes enterprise functions.
As this work scales, Finance is becoming both a proving ground for real-world AI adoption and an increasingly important proof point for customers, and a feedback loop for Product, Research and Revenue teams. The opportunity is to turn isolated examples into a coherent program that strengthens OpenAI’s internal operations, informs product development, and helps the company explain what high-value enterprise AI adoption looks like in practice.
The Visual Storytelling & AI Innovation Lead partners directly with the Chief of Staff to the CFO to turn Finance’s most important work into clear, visually compelling executive artifacts. This person will personally create CFO-facing presentations, board materials, executive briefings, customer-facing materials, and reusable design systems; shape the story architecture for high-stakes leadership and external moments; and establish the visual storytelling and presentation quality bar across Finance. The role will work closely with Global Affairs, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Marketing to ensure this work supports broader messaging, audience, and channel strategies.
The role will also turn Finance AI workflows into credible demos, proof points, and transformation stories; help Economic Research package and amplify its work; identify and elevate flagship use cases with Finance and Enterprise Platforms & Technology leaders; and develop content and materials that support customer and external engagement. This is a hands-on individual contributor role that works inside and outside of the Office of the CFO to connect the right people, build durable feedback loops, and translate real operating work into stories that influence how OpenAI builds, operates, and goes to market.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale OpenAI on OpenAI within Finance by identifying high-impact back-office Finance workflows, experimenting with emerging AI capabilities, driving adoption, and elevating a small set of flagship examples with measurable operational value.
- Develop and design CFO-facing materials for board, leadership, customer, and other high-stakes moments, while establishing a high bar for visual storytelling through reusable templates, systems, and standards.
- Turn OpenAI Finance’s internal AI work into clear, credible narratives, demos, proof points, and transformation stories for internal leaders, CFOs, CIOs, and customers.
- Help Economic Research package and amplify its work through compelling narratives and visual materials, partnering with Global Affairs, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Marketing to reach internal and external audiences.
- Partner with Global Affairs, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Marketing, and GTM to adapt and activate Finance and Economic Research content for relevant audiences and select executive engagements.
- Create durable feedback loops across OpenAI to surface Finance adoption lessons, product insights, and commercialization opportunities.
Requirements
- Exceptional executive storytelling and visual design skills, able to synthesize complex ideas into compelling presentations, briefing materials, and visual narratives tailored to senior audiences.
- Ability to quickly understand complex Finance and operating workflows and distinguish meaningful, scalable AI use cases from superficial demos.
- Strong cross-functional translation skills: communicate between operators, executives, product teams, researchers, and go-to-market partners; turn ambiguity into clear narratives, recommendations, and next steps.
- Pragmatic and outcome-oriented judgment about what is genuinely useful and scalable versus what is merely interesting in theory.
- Hands-on, execution-minded: comfortable building decks, designing briefings, shaping visual narratives, synthesizing workflows, and pressure-testing use cases personally.
- Experience creating reusable templates, design systems, and presentation standards to raise presentation quality across a function.
- Deep curiosity about how AI will reshape enterprise functions and experience actively experimenting with AI tools and agentic workflows.
This role is unique because
- You will operate as a hands-on builder at the intersection of back-office Finance, AI, executive storytelling, and design, personally creating the artifacts that bring the work to life.
- You will help make OpenAI Finance one of the company’s clearest examples of how AI transforms real enterprise work, turning workflows and adoption lessons into proof points that inform products and customers.
- You will extend the role’s impact beyond Finance by helping Economic Research reach internal and external audiences in partnership with Global Affairs, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Marketing.
- You will build an early-stage capability that connects the Office of the CFO with teams across OpenAI and can influence how the company builds, operates, and goes to market.
