About the team

The AI Deployment Engineer team is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. The team acts as a trusted advisor and thought partner for customers, building a backlog of frontier AI use cases and driving them to production with strong technical guidance. In the Digital Native segment, you'll help large and sophisticated companies transform their business through custom AI solutions such as customer service, automated content generation, contextual search, personalization, and other novel use cases leveraging OpenAI's newest models and capabilities.

About the role

We are looking for a driven solutions leader with a product mindset to partner with customers and ensure they achieve tangible business value with frontier AI. You will pair with senior customer leaders to establish AI strategic roadmaps, identify high-value applications, and partner with engineering and product teams to move from prototype through production. You will design enterprise architectures using OpenAI APIs and other services to maximize customer value and collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical thought partner for sophisticated platform customers to ideate and build novel applications on OpenAI APIs.
• Provide guidance to customers on maximizing business impact and accelerating time to value.
• Experiment and prototype solutions with and for customers.
• Forge and manage relationships with customer leadership and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scale.
• Contribute to open-source developer and enterprise resources.
• Scale the AI Deployment Engineering function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing internal/external cookbooks.
• Validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to Product, Engineering, and Research teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical consulting (or equivalent) experience.
• Proficient in Python and JavaScript.
• Experience building and/or delivering prototypes on top of the OpenAI API platform.
• Experience leading complex technical projects and programs with many stakeholders.
• Ability to identify opportunities to maximize customer business value using OpenAI APIs.
• Ownership mentality: able to own problems end-to-end and learn missing knowledge as needed.
• Comfortable operating in dynamic, ambiguous environments with frequent context switching and multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills, humility, and empathy when helping others.
• Excited to consolidate field feedback and contribute to the development of frontier AI capabilities.

Location & work model

This role is based in the San Francisco or Seattle office. The team follows a hybrid model of 3 days in the office per week. The company offers relocation assistance to new employees.
