Details

We are looking for an Azure Platform Network Engineer to help build, automate and operate secure connectivity services for one of the largest Azure platforms in Western Europe. You will join the Platform Network Enablement Team responsible for Central Azure Network Services and Connectivity within ABN AMRO and work on operating and developing Azure network infrastructure, automation and platform operations.

Responsibilities

Operate and develop the Azure network infrastructure together with the DevOps team.
Implement and maintain connectivity components such as ExpressRoute, Virtual Network Gateways, DNS solutions and Palo Alto firewalls on Azure.
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code for network resources (ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep, scripts).
Automate platform operations, monitoring, alerting and incident handling; take rotational ownership for incident response each sprint.
Collaborate with on-prem network teams, CISO NSS and A&PS to improve routing and security capabilities within and outside the Azure platform.
Translate application infrastructure orchestration requirements into Infrastructure as Code.

Requirements

Must have:

5+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking and connectivity solutions.
Azure DevOps experience and familiarity with AZ-400 and/or AZ-700 (Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Network Solutions).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep) and scripting (PowerShell).
Ability to create requirements for orchestration of application infrastructure and translate them to Infrastructure as Code.
Collaborative and analytical skills; experience working in Agile/DevOps teams.

Nice to have:

Azure certifications such as AZ-305 and AZ-500.
Experience with traditional network infrastructure (DNS, routing, proxy, WAN).
Knowledge of supporting IT concepts: TLS, PKI, NAT, IDS/IPS, WAF, TCP/UDP.
Experience with network security technology (e.g., Palo Alto).

Working environment

You will be part of the Public Cloud Platforms Engineering department that provides the foundational layer of ABN AMRO's Public Cloud Platform (FSCP). The department consists of multiple teams building and maintaining platform functionalities and the Azure service catalogue.
The team works in sprints and follows DevOps/Agile principles. Contributions affect the reliability, security and cost-efficiency of Azure connectivity across the bank.
