Senior Network Security Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain global network and security infrastructure across a complex, multi-region environment. The role combines hands-on engineering with governance, audit, risk management, and the translation of business requirements into robust, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and highly available network infrastructure.
• Lead network and security-related projects and technical improvements.
• Drive network security, resilience, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, the CISO organization, and external service providers.
• Contribute to audits, risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Act as a senior technical expert, mentor colleagues, and help define the network roadmap.
• Support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives in a mission-critical financial infrastructure environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking and network security, preferably in a regulated or financial-services environment.
• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, BGP, and OSPF.
• Proven experience with firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions.
• Experience designing and supporting secure, highly available data center and enterprise network environments.
• Strong understanding of security-by-design principles and secure network architecture.
• Ability to present and defend technology and solutions to stakeholders from different backgrounds.
• Ability to map security, compliance, and governance requirements to technology and vice versa.
• Ability to maintain a broad overview of the environment while working through technical details when required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Working Environment

You will join an international team operating across Europe, the US, and APAC. The team works with a data center outsourcing partner and stakeholders across IT, security, and business domains. The position requires working onsite in Amsterdam approximately three days per week, with working from home possible in consultation with the team.

• Gross monthly salary of €7,048–€10,068, including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget.
