Within Mortgages, the Chapter Lead role is newly introduced. This means you will play an active part in shaping and building the chapter, while growing step by step into the full Chapter Lead responsibilities. You will be supported and coached by the IT Lead and collaborate closely with other leads.

Responsibilities

As a Chapter Lead, you combine working in a DevOps team with taking your first steps in leading a chapter of professionals. In this role, you will:

  • Take responsibility for HR-related processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance cycles.
  • Coach and support chapter members in their personal and professional development.
  • Drive performance, growth, and career development of chapter members.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Shape and evolve the chapter vision and way of working within the chapter (craftmanship).
  • Work closely with the IT Lead, who will coach and guide you in developing into a Chapter Lead role.

  • Stimulate knowledge sharing through communities, events, and collaboration initiatives.

You will gradually grow into full ownership of the Chapter Lead responsibilities as the chapter matures.

Working environment

You will work within ABN AMRO Mortgages, where business and IT collaborate closely to deliver value for customers. You will be part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team consisting of professionals such as developers and product owners.

At the same time, you will help build and shape a chapter of professionals with similar expertise. As this chapter is still developing, you will have the opportunity to influence how the Chapter Lead role is embedded within Mortgages.

We work in a hybrid setup and typically meet at the office 1–2 days per week. It is required to reside in the Netherlands. The Mortgages office is located in Amersfoort.

  • Experience working in a DevOps environment.
  • Affinity with coaching and the ambition to further develop leadership skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A genuine interest in developing people and building strong teams.
  • A proactive mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
  • The ability and motivation to grow into a leadership role with support and coaching.
  • A transparent and reflective attitude; you are not afraid to give feedback to both chapter members and the IT lead.

Nice to have:

  • Experience within the financial services or mortgage domain.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum ways of working.

  • Ability to build Docker containers, profound knowledge of Azure and Kubernetes, and experience creating CI/CD templates in Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to look beyond the boundaries of your own team when developing systems and oversee complex business processes.
  • In-depth expertise in areas such as architectural principles, testing methodologies, security risks, continuous delivery, and cloud infrastructure.

Within this context, you will act as a specialist and gradually grow into a guiding role for the chapter in your field of expertise.
